08/29/03 - NEWS Server Outage Update
"news.tns.net" has been down the past week. This has
been fixed. For customers who have tried using news2.tns.net please switch back to news.tns.net. If

07/24/03 - Schedule Maintenance for July 26, 2003 - Midnight to 6:00am
Emergency router upgrades will be made on routers in the San Diego, CA Data Center.
The purpose of this maintenance is to upgrade the Cisco IOS networking software running
on these routers. There was a recent announcement that this software has a serious flaw
that could result in network problems. We are taking necessary action by upgrading the
software on July 26, 2003 between the hours of 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM PST. A reboot of
the routers is necessary in order for the upgrades to take effect. You may experience
service interruption of up to 10 minutes during this maintenance window. If you have
any questions or require additional information, please call Technical Support

07/17/03 - Schedule Maintenance for August 2, 2003 - Midnight to 6:00am
Necessary maintenance has been scheduled to perform core router upgrades
for Saturday, August 2, 2003. This maintenance will take place between the hours
of 12:00 AM PST and 6:00 AM PST. These upgrades are being performed so that
redundant circuits may be turned up. You may experience a service interruption
of up to an hour during this maintenance window. If you have any questions or require

06/10/03 - Schedule Maintenance for June 21, 2003 - Midnight to 6:00am
We have rescheduled the maintenance on our internal switches and
routers in the San Diego, CA Data Center. This maintenance is now
scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2003 between the hours of 12:00 AM
and 6:00 AM PST.
05/22/03 - Scheduled Maintenance for May 22, 11:00pM - 12:00AM
SkyRiver is opening a maintenance window for the San Diego market for
Thursday, May 22, 11PM-12AM. All subscribers in the San Diego market
should expect a brief disruption to service (up to 15 minutes) for a
network upgrade.
05/01/03 Spam Blocking:
In an attempt to block the enormous amount of spam that has been hitting our system and your mailbox we
have chosen to enable a spam-blocking list from http://spamcop.net.
Our tests have shown that spam can be decreased by 80% when we utilize this service. As with any system there are positiv
e aspects and negative ones. If you feel that our filters are affecting receipt of legitimate email please notify support
@tns.net immediately.
04/02/03 - Scheduled Maintenance for April 5, 12:00AM - 1:00AM
We will be performing routine maintenance on one of our internal routers in the San Diego, CA Data Center. This maintenance is scheduled for this Saturday, April 5 between the hours of 12:00 AM and 1:00 AM PST.
This maintenance should be non-customer impacting but we wanted to notify you, as a professional courtesy.
03/14/03 - Scheduled Maintenance
During a proactive audit of our internal switches, we identified a piece of hardware that needs to be replaced. We have scheduled the necessary maintenance to replace this component on Saturday, March 22 between the hours of 12:00 AM and 1:00 AM PST.
You may experience up to 30 minutes of down time during this scheduled maintenance.

02/13/03 - Upstream Provider Upgrades
Our upstream provider will be upgrading some memory in a 7500 series router. The anticipated impact on service will be 10-15 minutes of increased network latency while all the BGP routes reconverge.
01/24/03 - 01/25/03 - SQL Slammer Worm
The SQL Slammer worm began spreading across the Internet at 9:30PM PST on 01/24/03. This resulted in high network latency and packet loss. The problem was corrected by 2:30PM on 01/25/03. For more information on this worm, read this news article.
